Learn all about one of New Jersey’s native fruits from where to purchase trees, growing and caring for them as well as how to use the pawpaws after harvesting including a recipe. Sally Willowbee is our presenter and the Pawpaw Queen of South Jersey.  She is very well known in our area for her knowledge about this unique fruit.

Sally Lilychild Willowbee is an artist, a woodworker and an organic gardener. She is the daughter of an Iowa farm girl who spent August weekends picnicking at the local creek, picking and eating pawpaws. When she moved to South Jersey, she planted her beloved pawpaw trees here. She has been enjoying this unique fruit for over 30 years. Sally is presently caretaker and program chairperson at Old Pine Farm Natural Lands Trust in Deptford where these same trees grow. She is very happy to introduce and share the bountiful fruit that has now become quite popular.
